I am new to the site even though I have been a lurker for the last 4 years and
I began posting because this pandemic is destroying the business my family has built over the last 30 years. I
needed a place I could spend some time with like minded people to keep my mind off the pandemic. I say this sincerely that everyone on here has helped me deal with the emotional strain of this crisis and I am forever grateful to all of you (even the people I don’t agree with). Your commitment to being awesome to each other is something that the
internet
and
the world lacks
. So from the bottom of my heart,
thank you to everyone here and I hope we can find each other in the next landing spot for OPPO.
With that said, I am also an entrepreneur/engineer and I
am constantly looking for new projects that will keep my mind occupied (
especially now since my family’s core business is in the crapper)
. I actually have an app and a device I am working on to hopefully release next year so fingers crossed. But something new that popped into my head today was in reference to this vaccine blog I read.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
If this Pfizer vaccine is the real deal, the distribution of the vaccine will require major investment in cold storage and transport. So with that said, should we be looking to buy a bunch of cold storage vehicles to transport this vaccine to remote areas of the North America/Europe? The author makes a good point that getting all of the cold storage capacity to a level that is needed for enough doses will be difficult especially if the immunity gets reduced over time and Covid-19 becomes an annual infection.
Again, just throwing this out since there are so many bright people on here can help with understanding the hurdles and viability of this idea.

I saw a commercial for a 60 Minutes story in the military’s plan to distribute vaccine. I didn’t get to watch it though. I wonder what the details of that plan are.

I think it was BBC describing how they have suitcase size containers that are filled with dry ice that can last for a week or two if unopened and can hold enough for a few thousand doses. NA, Europe, Pacific rim isnt so much an issue, but Africa, SA India will still have challenges distributing.
Bigger issue is getting the vials to people. In the UK they were talking about using football stadiums, so once opened could innoculate hundreds one after another.
